Michael W. Smith’s A New Hallelujah Debuted at No. 1: Michael W. Smith’s 21st album A New Hallelujah (10/28) debuted this week at No.1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Christian Albums Chart, and No. 19 on Billboard's Top 200, with more than 23,000 in first week sales. On March 17, 2009, Smith will unveil an accompanying DVD of the moving worship event. Tune In This Weekend as Matt Maher records "Silent Night" for nationally syndicated weekly radio program "Heart Of Worship”: Singer/Songwriter/Worship Leader Matt Maher, was the guest on last week’s syndicated radio program “The Heart Of Worship”. The Sunday morning radio show airs on over 90 stations across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. “The Heart Of Worship” is hosted by Don Buettner, Program Director for Star 88.3/WLAB out of Fort Wayne, IN. In the two-hour show, Matt shared his heart behind the radio singles “Your Grace Is Enough” and “As It Is In Heaven”. The show also airs “Great Things” and “For Your Glory”, both from Matt’s Empty & Beautiful album. Matt also recorded “Silent Night (Emmanuel)” for an upcoming “The Heart Of Worship” Christmas special. Matt was in Fort Wayne for a Worship Pastor’s Workshop hosted by WLAB at Sweetwater Sound, the world’s largest music technology and instrument retailer. Casting Crowns and rock band Third Day both received American Music Award (AMA) nominations for “Favorite Artist” in the Contemporary Inspirational category. Casting Crowns, who won this category at last year’s show, celebrates its fourth consecutive nomination while Third Day is honored with its third career nod. Brandon Heath Holds Top Spot on AC & CHR Radio for Seventh Week; New Column Featuring Heath Launches on CCMMagazine.com: The smash hit song “Give Me Your Eyes” from singer/songwriter Brandon Heath remains the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart for a seventh week. The song also tops the CHR format for an 11th week, and closes out at No. 1 on R&R’s AC Indicator chart.
